a) Any person not convicted by any court of law and any registered
organization may, by application in the prescribed form and
subject to fulfillment of such other condition or conditions as
may be laid down hereafter or issued separately by the Executive
Committee, become an ordinary Member of ECOSS.
b) A person, while applying for the ordinary membership, shall
deposit an admission fee of Rs 200 along with the application
form. This shall also constitute the payment of the first annual
membership fee.
c) An organization while applying for the ordinary membership
shall deposit admission fee of Rs 1000 along with the application
form. This shall also constitute the payment of the first annual
membership fee.
d) The annual membership fee shall be Rs 200 for individuals and
Rs 1000 for organizations. These shall be paid yearly.
e) The Executive Committee may recommend at the General Body
Meeting the conferring of Honorary Membership to such eminent
persons from diverse walks of life and professions that it
believes can positively contribute to the furtherance of the goals
and objects of the Society. Persons so honoured shall be exempted
from paying any subscription fees. They shall be eligible to
attend all the General Body meetings as observers without the
right to vote.
f) A register of members shall be maintained showing:
- Name and address
- Date of admission
- Date on which a member ceased to be such a
member and reason thereof.
LIABILITIES OF MEMBERS
The liabilities of members shall
be limited to the extent of their subscriptions due in each year.
CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP
a) A person or an organization ceases to be a member of ECOSS if
they fail to remit their annual subscription fees for three
months. The person or the organization may be readmitted on such
terms, as the Executive Committee may think proper.
b) A member or an organization may withdraw from being a member of
ECOSS by submitting a resignation letter to the General Secretary.
However no refund of the annual subscription fee paid in advance
shall be made for the unexpired period.
c) The Executive Committee may disqualify a member from being a
member if the member's activity or action is directly or
indirectly opposed to the aims and objects of ECOSS or is
detrimental to its interest. Provided that no order disqualifying
any member shall be made unless reasonable opportunity is given to
the concerned member to explain himself/herself. The decision of
the Executive Committee shall be final and binding.
RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERS
The rights and privileges of members shall be as follows:
a) All members shall have the right to vote in General Meetings
and Requisition Meetings.
b) All members have the right to function in any committee or
sub-committee if so elected or nominated.
c) All members shall have the right to hold any office if so
elected.
d) All members shall have the right to inspect the books of
accounts, register of minutes and register of members subject to
submitting a written request stating the reasons to the secretary
general. And if such a request is found to be genuine, the query
of the member will be clarified in his or her presence in the next
meeting of ECOSS.
e) All the members shall have the right to receive meeting
notices, Society's accounts, reports, forward plans, articles and
publications - in short any form of communication that will enable
them to actively participate and contribute in the affairs of the
Society.
